The 1971 NAIA Division II football season, as part of the 1971 college football season in the United States and the 16th season of college football sponsored by the NAIA, was the second season of play of the NAIA's lower division for football.
The season was played from August to November 1971 and culminated in the 1971 NAIA Division II Football National Championship, played on December 11, 1971 in Thousand Oaks, California, on the campus of California Lutheran University.[1]
California Lutheran defeated Westminster (PA), the defending national champion, in the championship game, 30–14, to win their first NAIA national title.
