The 2002 Malaysia Premier League 2 season is the fifth season of Malaysia Premier League 2. A total of 12 teams participated in the season.^[1]

Johor was relegated from Malaysia Premier League 1 to join the Malaysia Premier League 2.^[1]

The season kicked off on 27 January 2002.^[1] Kedah won the title and was promoted to Malaysia Premier League 1 alongside Melaka TMFC.
