The 2014 Wisconsin Badgers men's soccer team will be the college's 38th season of playing organized men's college soccer. It will be the Badgers' 24th season playing in the Big Ten Conference.
Background
During the Badgers' 2013 campaign, the program tallied a 13–5–2 overall record, with a Big Ten record of 4–2. The performance saw the Badgers finish 19th in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll, and qualify for the 2013 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. It was the team's first NCAA Tournament appearance in men's soccer since 1995, when they last won the College Cup.
In the NCAA Tournament, the Badgers defeated the Milwaukee Panthers, 1–0 before losing to eventual NCAA champions, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 4–0, in the second round.[1]
