The 22-story brick building was designed by architects and Philip Birnbaum & Associates for real estate developers Harvey Schulweis and Bill P. Nikolis.[1]

The building occupies the site of the 1914 Standard Theater, Thomas W. Lamb, it was in use as a supermarket before being razed to construct the present condominium tower.[1]
