Albert J. "Al" Gebert (1906–1980) was the 16th head college football coach for the University of Wichita (now Wichita State University) located in Wichita, Kansas and he held that position for twelve seasons, from 1930 until 1941. His overall coaching record at Wichita was 68 wins, 40 losses, and 6 ties. This ranks him first at Wichita State in terms of total wins and eighth at Wichita State in terms of winning percentage. Gebert played at Notre Dame under coaching great Knute Rockne and was one of the first coaches to gather upon the announcement of his death.[2][3] He was named one of Rockne's "Notre Dame All Stars" and played in the final game that Rockne was head coach.[4]
