The Ligue de Football Professionnel (French pronunciation: [liɡ də futbol pʁɔfɛsjɔnɛl], (Arabic: رابطة كرة القدم المحترفة) Professional Football League), commonly known as the LFP, is an Algerian governing body that runs the major professional football leagues in Algeria. It was founded in 1962 and serves under the authority of the Algerian Football Federation. The president of the league is Mohamed Mecherara.
The league is responsible for overseeing, organizing, and managing the top two leagues in Algeria, Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, and is also responsible for the 32 professional football clubs that contest football in Algeria (16 in Ligue 1, 16 in Ligue 2, and two in the Ligue Nationale du Football Amateur).
