The American Legion Forest CCC Shelter is a historic rustic log shelter, located on the west side of West River Road within the American Legion State Forest, Barkhamsted, Connecticut. It is one of four Adirondack-style three-sided open shelters built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the forest, and the only one to survive, and is located near the site of the CCC camp. This CCC camp was one of the only camps still in operation when the CCC program was terminated in December 1941.[2]
The shelter was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.[1]
