Andrew Bentley (born 13 May 1985 in New Zealand) is a professional rugby league footballer. A France international representative forward, he has previously played for the Catalans Dragons of Super League. He is the older brother of fellow French international, Kane Bentley.
Early years
Born in New Zealand from a Samoan father and a Māori mother, he has been living in France since 1993. His family came to France to follow his dad who ended his career as a rugby league player at La Réole after playing for Richmond and Ponsonby in Auckland. His father Andrew Sr. was also previously selected to represent Samoa in the Pacific Cup.
Playing career
Bentley is said to have an awesome defense as a 'big hitter' but his work rate around the rucks has placed him in the Dragons squad and French Juniors for a number of years earlier.
Representative career
He was named in the France training squad for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup but did not make the final squad.[1]
He represented France in the 2010 Alitalia European Cup.
