Tongcheng Secondary School
Tongcheng Secondary School (Chinese: 桐城中学) is a secondary school in Tongcheng, Anhui, China.
History
Tongcheng Secondary School was founded during the late Qing Dynasty in 1902 by Wu Rulun (zh: 吴汝纶).[1]
The high school became known as the cradle of revolutionary education in Anhui Province (zh: "安徽革命教育的策源地") and the province's top secondary school.[2]

会宫人历来重文尚读。清末，会宫老桥人曾任京师大学堂总教习，桐城文派晚期文学大师吴汝纶，专程回家乡在县城筹建桐城中学。清末民初，会宫城山人曾任云南兴义府知府的方荃，亦回家乡在会宫城山筹建“华表小学”，并亲自任校长，民国28年，方荃胞侄方治任安徽省教育厅厅长，重修华小，改华表小学为“安徽省省立第四临时小学会宫分校”。新中国建立后，会宫乡教育事业突飞猪猛进，到2002年底，全乡完全中学一所，初级中学三所，完全小学16所。教学点5个。卫生事业亦随之发展，乡卫生院分别在会宫老街和会岔开发区新建近3000平方米的综合性门诊大楼各一幢，医护人员达近30余人，村卫生室更是星罗棋布。全乡十六个行政村，村村有卫生室，医护人员50余人。

桐城中学简称桐中，安徽省示范高中，坐落于安徽省桐城市，由晚清文学家、教育家吴汝纶先生于1902年创办。桐城中学经历了晚清、民国和新中国三个不同的时代。校园现占地97,600m2，自创建以来，学校始终走在时代发展的前列，晚清时期，被称作“安徽革命教育的策源地”；民国时期，又被誉为“安徽省最优秀的中学”。新中国成立后，于1958年被确定为安徽省首批七所重点中学之一，1999年被命名为安徽省示范高中。一百一十年来，学校秉承“勉成国器”的校训，弘扬“勇当大任，志在争先”的桐中精神，凭着深厚的文化底蕴、淳朴的校风和出色的办学成就赢得了“人才的摇篮”的美誉。
