Anna Benjamin David (born June 6, 1970) is an American author, journalist and television personality specializing in addiction and recovery as well as relationships.

She is a graduate of Trinity College.[1]

Career

David is the author of the novels Party Girl (HarperCollins, 2007),[2] Bought (HarperCollins, 2009),[3] and Falling For Me (HarperCollins, 2011)[4] and the editor of the anthology Reality Matters (HarperCollins, 2010).[5] Her book By Some Miracle I Made It Out of There, co-written with Tom Sizemore, was a New York Times bestseller.[6]

David was the sex and relationship expert on G4’s Attack of the Show[7] and has been featured on Hannity, Red Eye,[8] Dr. Drew,[9] Jane Velez Mitchell[10] and The Insider[11] as well as on various other programs on Fox News, CTV, MTV News, VH1 and E!.

In 2010, Anna started speaking at colleges about addiction and recovery.[12]

True Tales of Lust and Love

In January 2012, David created True Tales of Lust and Love,[13] a storytelling show that premiered at The Mint[14] in Los Angeles and which features female writers and comedians telling or reading stories. In August 2013, the show moved to Mbar.[15] The show has featured Maria Bamford,[16] Jackie Kashian,[17] Jen Kirkman, Jillian Lauren[18] and Cindy Chupack,[19] and the all-male show in June 2013 featured Paul F. Tompkins.[20] An anthology of essays that have been performed at the show will be released in January 2014 by Counterpoint/SoftSkull.[21]

Afterpartychat.com

In June 2013, David launched AfterPartyChat,[22] a website focused on addiction and recovery. AfterPartyChat has featured exclusive interviews with Dr. Drew Pinsky[23] and original content by Nic Sheff[24] among others.

David has been a contributor to The Daily Beast,[25] Details,[26] Maxim, Premiere, Parenting, People, Us Weekly, and Razor.
