ATON is one of the oldest investment companies in Russia. It was founded in 1991 by Evgeny Yuriev. ATON operates in 29 Russian cities, managing a total of 73 000 client accounts. ATON’s headquarter is in Moscow.

History

ATON was one of the co-founders of the Moscow Stock Exchange, NAUFOR and pioneer which launched the first web-based trading system in Russia. In 2002 ATON was one of the underwriters of the first IPO in Russia RosBusinessConsulting.

December 20, 2006 ATON Capital Group announced that it sold 100% of its institutional business which includes ZAO Aton Broker and Aton International Ltd (together, the “Aton Institutional Business”) to Bank Austria Creditanstalt AG (“BA-CA”), a member of UniCredit Group, for US$424 million in cash and signed a 3-years non-compete agreement.

Upon the expiration of the mentioned agreement in 2009 ATON started to develop institutional brokerage business. Nowadays ATON offers a wide range of investment, brokerage, asset management, corporate finance and merger and acquisition services on both Russian and international markets.

ATON is presented in Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Netherlands and Cyprus and is a member of the London Stock Exchange.

On September 22, 2009 Atonline Limited got license of Cyprus Investment Firm by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission with number CIF 104/09 in accordance with the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive.

In 2011 ATON Capital Group was rated by Moody’s Investors Service – B2/NP, forecast stable. ATON Capital (previously ATON Capital Partners) closed a deal to sell internet-provider Net by Net

In 2012 Andrey Zvezdochkin was appointed as CEO. Aton Securities Inc. obtained FINRA license, which permits provision of investment service to American clients and opens US securities market for Russian clients. In 2012 ATON took part in IPO of the Moscow Stock Exchange and SPO of RosBusinessConsulting.

In 2013 ATON acquired 100% of UFG Capital Management. As a result, one of the largest players in the Russian asset management market was created with mutual fund assets of 3.8 billion rubles. Institutional (pension fund) assets reached 11.3 billion rubles.

In 2013 ATON took part in IPO of the Moscow Stock Exchange as a co-manager and as well as in the unique SPO of QIWI – the first SPO of foreign equities on MICEX.[1]

In 2014 ATON was named Investment Company of the Year by Financial Elite of Russia Awards. [2]

In 2014 ATON was Russia’s only independent investment group in Thomson Extel Russia Top 10 ranking.[3] ATON confirmed its leading positions in Extel 2015 ranking. [4]

In 2015 ATON was named "Company of the Year" [5] and “Best broker for private clients” [6]

In 2015 ATON acted as a co-lead manager of CREDIT BANK OF MOSCOW IPO, which raised RUB 13.2 billion. [7]
