Bakewell Castle

Bakewell Castle was in the town of Bakewell, Derbyshire (grid reference SK221688).

It was a motte and bailey castle built in the 12th century. It was razed to the ground, as a consequence of the English Civil War, and now only the earthworks remain.[1][2] It is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.[3]
