Balkania (proposed state)

Not to be confused with Balkan Federation.
Balkania: Kosovo (light red), Serbia (yellow), and Montenegro (light blue)

Balkania was the name of a proposed state in the Balkans, suggested by the Albanian politician Adem Demaci in 1993.[1] Intended as an alternative to Serb-Albanian ethnic conflict, it would have transformed the rump third Yugoslavia into a democratic confederation consisting of Serbia, Kosovo, and Montenegro.[2][3]

The proposal became moot when in 2006 Montenegro declared independence, and after still disputed Kosovo declaration of independence in 2008.
