Rochalimaea vinsonii[3] |
Bartonella vinsonii is a gram-negative bacteria from the genus of Bartonella which was isolated from dogs[3][4][5] Rochalimaea vinsonii was reclassified to Bartonella vinsonii[4] Bartonella vinsonii contains the two subspecies Bartonella vinsonii subsp. vinsonii and Bartonella vinsonii subsp. berkhofli.[4] Bartonella vinsonii subsp. vinsonii has been isolated from voles and Bartonella vinsonii subsp. berkhofli was isolated from a dog with endocarditis.[4] Bartonella vinsonii subsp. berkhoffii can cause diseases in humans.[6] Those two subspecies are named after J. William Vinson and Herman A. Berkhoff.[4]
