Best Action Sports Athlete ESPY Award
The Best Action Sports Athlete ESPY Award was presented once each in 2002 and 2003 to the action sports athlete, irrespective of gender, nationality, or sport contested, adjudged to be the best in a given calendar year. The award was bifurcated by gender in 2004, since which year Best Female and a Best Male Action Sports Athlete ESPY Awards have been presented.
Over the two years of the award, its voting panel was composed variously of fans; sportswriters and broadcasters, sports executives, and retired sportspersons, termed collectively experts; and ESPN personalities. The ESPY Awards ceremony is conducted in June and awards conferred reflected performance and achievement over the twelve months previous to presentation.[1]
