BOTB

Best of the Best PLC (BOTB) is a Dream Car Competition company that has been operating in major UK airports since 1999.[1] The company gives a Dream Car away every week, and to date has handed the keys over to more than £20m worth of cars.[2] Customers buy tickets for the car they want to win and play Spot the ball.[3] The person closest to where an independent panel of judges deem the centre of the ball to be wins the car that week.[4] BOTB is a UK registered company[5] and is listed on the AIM London Stock Exchange.[6] The headquarters are in Fulham, London.[7]

History

William Hindmarch founded BOTB in 1999 and serves as its Managing Director and CEO.[8] He graduated from the University of Durham in 1996[9] and was born into an entrepreneurial family. His father Michael Hindmarch founded a successful horticultural plastics company[10] and his sister is bag designer Anya Hindmarch.[11] BOTB first launched at Heathrow Airport, where a Porsche 911 was put on display.[12] They now occupy a number of high-profile locations in leading UK airports and Dublin airport.[13] In addition, BOTB are located in one of the largest shopping centres in the UK - Westfield London. The website www.botb.com was launched in 2003.[14]

Locations

BOTB operates from stands at major airports including London Gatwick North & South Terminals,[15] London Stansted Airport,[16] Manchester Airport Terminals 1 and 2,[17] Birmingham Airport,[18] Edinburgh Airport,[19] Dublin Airport,[20] and Westfield London shopping centre. They have over 50 airport staff as well as 16 employees at head office.

Winners

To date more than 330 people worldwide have won a car with BOTB.[21] The cars won include Range Rovers,[22] Audis,[23] Aston Martins,[24] Jaguars,[25]Porsches,[26] and Maseratis.[27]

Charity Donations

BOTB has made over 80 charitable donations to a wide range of both national and international charities.[28] These include Cancer Research,[29] Sparks,[30] and Great Ormond Street Hospital.[31]

Collaborations

BOTB has collaborated with several well-known names in Sport and Car Racing including Shmee150,[32] ex-stig Top Gear Stig Ben Collins[33] and F1 racing driver David Coulthard who was an ambassador for BOTB from 2012 until March 2015.[34] Ex-England footballer Sol Campbell has regularly judged the competition since 2014.[35]
