Bigg Boss Kannada 4 (BBK4), (Kannada: ಬಿಗ್ ಬಾಸ್ ಕನ್ನಡ - 4) is the fourth season of the Kannada reality television series Bigg Boss Kannada. The show's grand opening was on October 9, 2016 and it was aired on Colors Kannada at 6pm. Sudeep, remained as the host as he hosted previous seasons.[1] He had signed a INR 18 crore deal with the channel Colors Kannada to host the next five seasons starting from the previous season.[2][3] The first promo for the show aired on the channel on 8 September 2016.[4] None of the contestants' details were revealed until the grand opening of the show. The Bigg Boss house built for the previous season in the Innovative Film City at Bidadi, Bengaluru was reconstructed for this season.[5][6]
The show is aired on Colors Kannada and Colors Kannada HD simultaneously from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM everyday. This is the first season of Bigg Boss Kannada to be shot and aired in High-Definition. A spin-off show, Bigg Boss Night Shift is being produced and aired on Colors Super from 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM everyday. This contains unseen footage from the original airing and is hosted by Rehman Haseeb, alumnus from Season 3 of Bigg Boss Kannada.

Pratham
Pratham is a film director yet to debut in the Kannada film industry through his film 'Devravne Bidu Guru' which is an ongoing project with the Bigg Boss Kannada Season 2 winner Akul Balaji in the lead role. Pratham proclaims himself as 'Olle Huduga' (Good Boy) and 'Badavara Bandhu' (Friend of the Poor) on social media. It is said that he was not picked by the Bigg Boss team, instead he himself made it into their office and asked for a contestant slot on the show.[7] The broadcaster broke the tradition and aired promos unveiling Pratham as the first contestant of Season 4 days before the premiere episode.
Sheetal Shetty
Sheetal Shetty is a news anchor who presented news shows and discussions on TV9 and BTV News. She is also a part-time actress, notable for her acting in movies such as 'Ulidavaru Kandanthe' and 'Kendasampige'.
Shalini Satyanarayan
Shalini Satyanarayan is an actress who is famous for her role as 'Pacho Srimathi' in the popular Kannada Sit-Com of the 2000s, 'Pa Pa Pandu'. She has also served as show presenter for 'Chinnara Chilipili' and hosted 'Comedy Circle', a sketch-comedy show on TV. Before entering Bigg Boss house, she was a contestant of the same channel's 'Dancing Star Season 3'.
Kirik Keerthi
Keerthi Kumar has worked as a program producer and a reporter in Kannada news channels, as an RJ and is a social media activist. He has worked as a journalist for TV News channels under the name 'Keerthi Shankaraghatta' but his famous persona was 'Kirik Keerthi' on the social media through which he revolted against many anti-Kannada activities and organizations.
Malavika Avinash
Malavika Avinash is an advocate, actress and politician. She has acted in most of T N Seetharam's serials including 'Mayamruga', 'Manwantara', 'Muktha', 'Mahaparva' and movies such as 'Dashakanta', 'Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari', 'Mukunda Murari' etc. She is married to Kannada actor Avinash and active under Bharathiya Janatha Party as a politician.
Kavya Shastri
Kavya Shastri is a television presenter and a serial actress. She has hosted numerous TV shows and acted in the serial 'Shubha Vivaha' that aired on Zee Kannada.
Bhuvan Ponnanna
Bhuvan Ponnanna is a model and an alumnus of reality show 'Indian' that was broadcast on ETV Kannada.
Sanjana Chidanand
Sanjana is a model and a serial actress. She had a short stint in the serial 'Kulavadhu' aired on Colors Kannada.
Chaitra
Chaitra is a famous singer who has sung various songs in Kannada films.
Dodda Ganesh
Dodda Ganesh is a retired cricketer who played in international level and a politician under Janata Dal (Secular).
