Roman Catholic Diocese of Elvas
The Diocese of Elvas was a Roman Catholic diocese in Portugal, located in the city Elvas, district of Portalegre in the Alentejo region and in the ecclesiastical province of Évora.[1][2]
History
9 June 1570: Erected as Diocese of Elvas / Dioecesis Elvensis[1]
1818 September 30: Suppressed (to Diocese of Portalegre)[1]
1969: Restored as Titular Episcopal See of Elvas[2]
