Blackskull is a small village in County Down, Northern Ireland. It lies near Donaghcloney and Dromore. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 168 people. It is within the Craigavon Borough Council area.
Blackskull is within the townland of Ballygunaghan, which was historically spelt as Ballygonaghan and Ballygonigan. These names are derived from Irish Baile Ó gConacháin, meaning "Ó Conacháin's settlement" or from Irish Baile Uí Dhuinneagáin, meaning "Ó Duinneagáin's settlement".[1][2]
