Brandon Bell (born May 8), professionally known as Williedonut (or simply Donut), is an American record producer and songwriter.
Early life and career
Born in Houston, Texas, and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Donut grew up in a musical family, as his father was a former radio disk jockey. Donut got his start in music after meeting Pharrell's brother, Pharoah Williams. Eventually, Pharoah Williams and Donut came together to start a production company in 2005.[1]
Music career
2008—present: Needlz and Donut
In 2008, Donut met producer Needlz on Craigslist when Donut was trying to buy production equipment (i.e. MPC4000). As of 2016, Needlz and Donut are partners in beats gravitating towards soundscapes.[2] Most recently, they churned out Lonely Island's 'Mona Lisa' and Jeremih's jam 'Oui', which was at the top of the Billboard Urban/Hot R&B/Hip-Hop charts.[3][4] After the release of 'Oui,' Donut received his first RIAA certification Platinum plaque for his production. He is signed with DJ Mormile, who is the Senior VP of A&R at Sony Music, at Fakework Management, which also features Mike Will Made It and Rae Sremmurd on their roster.
