The Brisbane Transit Centre, on Roma Street in Brisbane, is a multi-mode public transport hub for long-distance bus and rail services, and houses the second-busiest suburban rail in the Brisbane central business district.
Opened in 1986, the Brisbane Transit Centre is between the Queensland Police Service headquarters and the Roma Street Parkland. The complex includes a number of shops, cafes and restaurants, and two office towers.[1] Access to the centre can be from the ground floor on Roma Street or from the Roma Street Parkland.
Long distance coach travel
The coach terminal is located on the top floor of the Brisbane Transit Centre. Greyhound Australia operate intrastate within Queensland and interstate services to Byron Bay and Sydney.[2] Premier Motor Service operate services to Cairns, Lismore and Sydney.[3]
NSW TrainLink operates services to Casino, connecting with train services to Sydney.[4]
Crisps Coaches services to Tenterfield and Moree.[5]
Train travel
Roma Street railway station is accessed from the ground floor level of the Brisbane Transit Centre. Long distance Traveltrain services depart for destinations within Queensland.[6] NSW TrainLink operate an XPT service to Sydney.[4]
Roma Street Railway Station is also part of Queensland Rail's City rail network.

Proposed redevelopment
In November 2014, the Queensland Government announced plans to demolish the transit centre as part of its BaT Tunnel project.[7][8][9][10] In March 2015, the project was cancelled.[11]
