The broad-tailed paradise whydah (Vidua obtusa) is a species of bird in the Viduidae family. It is found in Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
