Cannabis in Greece

Cannabis in Greece is illegal, but if possession of a small amount is found to be for personal use it's decriminalized in court. Individuals are arrested, although rarely convicted by court. Possession of large quantities may lead to several years in prison.[1]

The Government was said to be preparing a bill that would decriminalize the use of drugs in August 2011, but the legislation was not changed at all. There are speculations that the Greek Government will legalize cannabis for medical use.
