Cerrophidion godmani is a venomous pit viper species endemic to Mexico and Central America. No subspecies are currently recognized.[4]
Etymology
The specific name, godmani, is in honor of English zoologist Frederick DuCane Godman.[5]
Description
Terrestrial and moderately stout, adults are usually less than 55 cm (21.5 in) in total length, but sometimes grow to more than 75 cm (30 in).[2]
Geographic range
Cerrophidion godmani is found in Mexico in the Mexican states of Chiapas and southeastern Oaxaca, through Central America, to western Panama, at moderate to high elevations. The type locality given is "near Dueñas and on the other parts of the tableland of Guatemala".[1]
