Christoph Koncz (born 3 September 1987) is an Austrian violinist. He is possibly most notable in popular culture for his role as the orphaned prodigy Kaspar Weiss in the 1998 Canadian film The Red Violin.
Biography
Born to a musical family in the town of Konstanz/Germany, Koncz received his first violin at the age of four. In 1993, he began study at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien in Vienna. He has performed in multiple concert halls across Europe, North America, and Asia, and has won several awards for his virtuosity.
Koncz currently lives in Vienna, where is a member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. [1] He has given performances in theatres in Germany and worldwide.[2]
