Crescent Model Higher Secondary School is an educational institution in Lahore, Pakistan from Montessori School to Higher Secondary Level. The school is run by a private trust. It also offers 'O' and 'A' level programs. It has a main campus for boys and a separate campus for girls, both located in Shadman.
About
Crescent Model School was established in 1968. At that time, School was in Qaddafi Stadium then was moved to the new building in Shadman Colony in 1970. Founders of Crescent Group Mian Fazl Karim, Mian Muhammad Amin, Mian Muhammad Shafi and Mian Muhammad Bashir considered corporate social responsibility as a cornerstone of their business policy.
Prominent personalities like Dr. Amir-ud-Din, Chief Justice Yaqub Ali Khan, Dr. Mubashir Hassan and Mr. Majid Nizami played a leading role along with Mian Muhammad Amin to establish Crescent Model Higher Secondary School in Lahore. Sh Moin-Ud-Din was the first Principal and Haji Fazal Ahmad was the first Headmaster.
Crescent Model School is in the heart of Lahore, one of the biggest metropolitan cities of Pakistan. The school offers many indoor and outdoor extracurricular activities. The school has two separate branches for boys and girls. The total number of students in both branches is about 4,600, of whom 1,500 are girls. The institution provides the students with ample sports fields, auditoriums, libraries, swimming pools and state-of-the-art science and computer labs. The school is also regarded as one of the academic institutions of Lahore.
Crescent Model School has a distinguished track record of forty-six years and Crescent Group has earmarked sufficient funds for up gradation of school facilities to ensure that it remains the best school and continues to provide quality education to our students over the next several decades.
Academics
Established in 1968, the school follows the Lahore Board curriculum but also runs classes for pupils who are interested in taking O-level and A-level examinations. English, Urdu, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Islamiat, Pak.Studies, business studies, economics, accounting, and Add. Maths are the subjects are the provided for O-level. Although the medium of instruction is English, Islamic Studies is taught in Urdu. The school conducts debate and poetry competitions in both English and Urdu.
Boys section
Sh Moin-Ud-Din was the first Principal. The Boys section is located just in the center of Shadman Colony Lahore. The area of the place is about 8 Kilas. There are 2 swimming pools, gymnasium, and a very large school ground made available for the students. There are almost 250 teachers employed, who have a long history at the institution. 4 well-stocked libraries are available to students, who can also issue books from there too. The Montessori section, Junior Section, High School Section and College are joined collectively as one platform.
Admission date
Registrations for Admission to Montessori Section and Class 1 start in January. In February, registrations for admission to Classes II till IX & O Level are taken. Admission Test for Class I are taken in February and results are announced by month-end. In March, results are announced for Montessori and Class I intakes and from April new classes begin.
Girls section
Mrs. Jahan Ara Khan, who was the headmistress since the very beginning, died on 21 December 2010. After her death, Mrs. Wahid, also the vice principal of Crescent Girls College, was appointed as the school headmistress. Currently, the girls section is being headed by the Principal, Mrs. Nasreen Latif.And now after Mrs Nasreen Latif is the most sweet vice principal in the school's history is Madam Sofia Qadir Khan.And the coordinator of the Girl's campus Jr sec is Madam Summaya Hussain, of the Sr sec is Madam Riffat, of O & A level is Madam -------------, and of the college section is Madam-------------------.
