Inferno in diretta, internationally released as Cut and Run and Amazon: Savage Adventure, is a 1985 Italian exploitation thriller film directed by Ruggero Deodato.[1][2]
Plot
The film follows a reporter (Lisa Blount) and her cameraman investigating a war in the jungles of South America between drug cartels and the cult-like cannibal army of Colonel Brian Horne (Richard Lynch).
Production
The film began as an unmade Wes Craven screenplay titled 'Marimba.' After initial funding fell through, the producers kept the screenplay, eventually leading to Cannibal Holocaust director Ruggero Deodato being attached. The producers had initially wanted Deodato to make a direct sequel to Cannibal Holocaust, but he refused and made this film instead.
