Daflon
Daflon is a micronized purified flavonoid fraction containing 90% diosmin and 10% other flavonoids expressed as hesperidin.
Therapeutic indications
This pill is a venotonic (it increases venous tone) and a vasculoprotector (it increases resistance in small blood vessels).[1] It is recommended for treating Chronic venous insufficiency and for treating Hemorrhoidal diseases.[2]Daflon is also beneficial in the reduction of symptoms after operation for hemorrhoidal disease.[3]
Dosage
For venous insufficiency, the dosage is 2 tablets daily. For acute hemorrhoidal attack, the dosage is 6 tablets daily for 4 days, followed by 4 tablets daily over the next 3 days.[2]
Side effects
Possible side effects include routine gastric disorders and neurovegetative disorders.
