Dalešice Hydro Power Plant on the Jihlava River is a large power plant in the Czech Republic that has four Francis turbines with a nominal capacity of 120 megawatts (160,000 hp) each[1] and a total capacity of 450 megawatts (600,000 hp). The old turbines before the 2007 reconstruction had a capacity of 1,112.5 megawatts (1,491,900 hp). The plant includes the Dalešice Mohelno Dams.

Dalešice Dam

Dalešice Dam lies in the Czech Republic. It was built between 1970 and 1978 as a water source for the nearby Dukovany Nuclear Power Station. The gravity dam is 100 metres (330 ft) high (the highest in the Czech Republic, second highest rockfill dam in Europe), so the reservoir is also the deepest in the Czech Republic 85.5 metres (281 ft). The reservoir has a capacity of 127.3 million cubic metres (4.50×10^9 cu ft).
