Danielle Campbell (born January 30,[1] 1995[2][3]) is an American actress. She is known for her roles as Jessica Olson in the Disney Channel Original Movie StarStruck[2][4][5][6] and as Simone Daniels in the Disney film Prom.[2][5] She starred on the television series The Originals[7] as Davina Claire from 2013–16.[4][5][8]
Life
Campbell is from Hinsdale, Illinois.[2][3][4] Her parents are Georganne and John Campbell, and she has a younger brother.[2][4] She was discovered in a hair salon in Chicago at the age of 10.[2][4][6][8]
She lives in Atlanta, Georgia,[3][4][8] while filming The Originals and the rest of the time in Chicago, Illinois.[5][6] Since December 2015, she is in a relationship with One Direction's Louis Tomlinson[9][10][11]
Career
Her first big break was as a guest star on Prison Break,[3][5] appearing in five episodes.[4] She also appeared in a nationwide commercial for Build-A-Bear Workshop[2][4] and played the character of Darla in the 2008 movie The Poker House. In 2010, she appeared in the Disney Channel television series Zeke and Luther[3] portraying Dani, before starring in the television movie StarStruck[2][4][5][6] with Sterling Knight the same year. Upon StarStruck's release, she signed a development deal with Disney. She starred in the movie Prom,[5] released on April 29, 2011, co-starring with Nicholas Braun, Nolan Sotillo and Aimee Teegarden.[2]
In 2013, she was cast a starring role in the television series The Originals,[7][12] where she portrayed the role of a powerful sixteen-year-old witch named Davina for the series' first three seasons.[4][5][8] In late 2013, Campbell was announced to star in the 2015 film 16 South, alongside Luke Benward.[4][13] In April 2015 Campbell shot the movie Race To Redemption where she has a lead role, alongside Aiden Flowers and Luke Perry; the movie is set to be released in 2016. Campbell is set to play Ellie Reed in the upcoming 2016 television series SINs[14] and Maddy in the 2017 Fine Brothers production F*&% the Prom.
