EMS Software, LLC (formerly Dean Evans & Associates), the maker of EMS software, is a Colorado-based company that develops software for a wide variety of tasks, including meeting and Event scheduling, Resource management, academic scheduling, shared workspace management (i.e. office hoteling), web-based calendaring, online registration and survey creation. Dean Evans, a business consultant and software engineer, founded the company in 1986.

DEA currently has more than 2.5 million users, works with 4,000-plus facilities and manages millions of meetings and events around the globe each year.[1] The company serves a wide variety of industries, providing software specifically designed for higher education, school districts, law firms, governmental entities, cultural centers, churches, health care establishments, corporations and non profits.[2]

In 2008, Software Magazine included DEA in its “Software 500” list of the world’s largest software and technology service providers.[3] The same year, Deliotte ranked DEA as the No. 24 company in its Technology Fast 50 Program for Colorado.[4] INC. 5000 named the company in its list of the 5,000 fastest-growing, private companies in the country in 2008, 2009 and 2010.[5][6] In 2011, The Denver Business Journal named DEA among the top five Denver-area software developers.[7]

Software giant Oracle Corporation made DEA a Gold Level Partner in 2010, with the shared goal of integrating EMS with Oracle’s popular PeopleSoft software.[8]

In 2012, Dean Evans & Associates, Inc. was named Customer Service Department of the Year in the Computer Software category by the American Business Stevie Awards.[9] The company was also named to the Inc. (magazine) 500|5000[10] and the Software Magazine software 500 list.

In April, 2014, Dean Evans & Associates announced that it received a strategic growth investment from JMI Equity, a growth equity firm focused on investing in leading software and technology-enabled services companies.[11] In July, 2015, Dean Evans & Associates acquired EmergingSoft for its technology integration with Microsoft® Outlook.[12] On January 4, 2016, Dean Evans & Associates formally changed the company name to EMS Software, LLC.
