Denise Maerker Salmón (born January 8, 1965 in Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican journalist. She is currently Televisa Nightly News Anchor. She has also performed on the academic environment.
She studied Economics and Social science at the Université catholique de Louvain in Belgium. She earned a Bachelor of Laws, Master in Political science, and PhD for Professional Studies Comparative Political System at the Sorbonne in Paris .[1]
Host of the newscast Punto de Partida of Televisa and until June 30, 2016 she participated in the program Tercer Grado on the same channel.[2]
She writes a column for El Universal newspaper and leads a radio program with news of the same name on Radio Fórmula.
After the departure of Joaquín López-Dóriga of the nightly news on Channel 2, Televisa announced on May 30, 2016 that Denise Maerker will be the new anchor beginning on August 22, 2016.
