Diogenes (/daɪˈɒdʒəˌniːz/; Greek: Διογένης, Diogénēs, "born of Zeus"^[1]) is a Greek name shared by several important historical figures, the best-known of whom is the philosopher Diogenes of Sinope (412–323 BC), better known as Diogenes the Cynic or simply Diogenes.
