EPB6 is a public access cable channel serving the Glasgow area of Barren County, Kentucky via the cable television service of the Glasgow Electric Plant Board, a provider of cable television, internet service, and electrical power. It is shown on channel 6 of the basic cable tuner of the Glasgow EPB Cable television system.[2]

Programming

EPB6 features slides, known as "static ads," that deals with local events and community announcements, as well as advertisements for local businesses in the Glasgow/Barren County area. They are presented in a constant rotation, and each rotation lasts for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the number of ads and announcements in the rotation. Local merchants in the Glasgow area can purchase ads that are run on EPB 6, along with EPB 24/7 (its related local weather channel), as well as a localized feed of The Weather Channel.[3] Background audio for EPB6 is actually an audio simulcast of local radio station WCLU-AM 1490.[4]

EPB6 and SCTV 6, along with radio stations WCLU-AM, WCLU-FM, and WCDS, simulcast the television broadcast of the annual Glasgow Rotary Community-wide Auction, which takes place in November of each year.

Related channels

EPB 24/7, which is on channel 9 of Glasgow EPB's cable system, is a 24/7 local weather channel, featuring local weather forecasts, radar images, and severe weather alerts when they go down.

SCTV-6 is the public access cable television channel offered to customers of Glasgow EPB's main telecommunications rival, SCRTC, the South Central Rural Telephone Cooperative. It is a similar format to EPB 6, except that in addition to Barren County, that system also serves Hart, Metcalfe, and Adair Counties of Kentucky.[5]
