This came during an election when the Green Party vote (119,852 votes) declined by 83% and the Libertarian Party vote for Badnarik/Campagna (397,367 votes) was essentially flat compared to the 2000 election - making it the only national third party to increase its share of the vote. Pat Buchanan's absence from the race as a candidate may have contributed in large part to the increase in the Constitution vote in 2004.
