Eric Hamilton (bishop)

Eric Knightley Chetwode Hamilton KCVO[1] (1890 – 21 May 1962) was an Anglican bishop during the mid part of the 20th century.[2]
He was born in 1890 and educated at Bradfield School and University College, Oxford.[3]
Ordained in 1914 he was later Priest in charge at St John's, Knightsbridge, Vicar of St Nicholas Church, Chiswick and then of St Paul’s, Knightsbridge[4] before being appointed Suffragan Bishop of Shrewsbury in 1940.[5] Four years later he was appointed Dean of Windsor.[6] A man committed to the worldwide church[7] who “took the very greatest and most conscientious of pains”,[8] he died on 21 May 1962.[2]
