La polizia ringrazia (internationally released as Execution Squad and The Enforcers) is a 1972 Italian crime film directed by Steno and starring Enrico Maria Salerno. Set during Italy's tumultuous anni di piombo ("Years of Lead"), the film obtained a great commercial success, and it is considered as the initiator of the "poliziottesco" film genre.[1][2][3]
