Exel Composites Oyj (formerly known as Exel Oyj) is a Finnish technology company. At present, the company designs, manufactures and markets composite profiles and tubes for industrial applications,[3] but in the past, the company has produced a number of different products, such as earmuffs, ski and trekking poles, and other sports equipment.[3][4] Exel was founded in 1960 by Yrjö Aho.[5] The name Exel came from a combination of the words explosive electronics.[5] At that time, the company produced electric blasting caps.[5]
