Federation of International Robot-soccer Association

The Federation of International Robot-soccer Association [sic] or FIRA for short is an international organisation organising competitive soccer - usually 5-a-side - competitions between autonomous robots.[1]

Founded in 1997, FIRA organises the robot football World Cup, officially named the RoboCup.[2]

In 2013, it is scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The championship started on August 24, 2013 and will be on till August 29.

Roboworld Cup and Congress

The international Fira congress and a robotics competition involving five categories: Micro-Robot Soccer Tournament, Amire, Naro, Simulated Robot, Android, Robo and Humanoid Robot.[3]

The first Fira Cup was in 1996 and offers a challenging arena to the younger generation and researchers working with autonomous mobile robotic systems.15th Robo World Cup was held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham,Banglore,India in September 2010.[4] In 2013, 18th RoboWold cup attracted teams from Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, India, China, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Canada, Russia and Malaysia. It saw the participation of 80 teams from 11 countries. The 2015 RoboWold Cup was held in Hefei in China, with more than 500 teams taking part from 45 different countries.[5]
