Fighting Gravity is a performance art troupe originally from Blacksburg, Virginia, who use black light and illusions.
The group won third place in the fifth season of America's Got Talent.[1]
Performances
After their success on America's Got Talent, Fighting Gravity toured twenty-four cities across the United States. Following the tour, they performed for Chabad's Children of Chernobyl Children at the Heart Gala Dinner and Celebrity Fantasy Auction on November 22, 2010. On New Years Day 2011, just after midnight, Fighting Gravity appeared live on television with Far East Movement and Dev in Times Square, New York during Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. Fighting Gravity also performed as a guest act on the sixth season of America's Got Talent on July 27, 2011.
Fighting Gravity has provided corporate entertainment for companies such as Mercedes Benz, Audi, Quicken Loans, and Autotrader.com. They have also appeared on TV for shows like "Germany's Got Talent" in Austria, "Red or Black?" in London, and the "American Music Awards" with Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas and Jennifer Lopez. Their most recent television appearance was on the season première of Brain Games in January 2014.
Personal lives
The members of Fighting Gravity began performing together while members of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity at Virginia Tech. They initially took a semester off of school to perform in America's Got Talent until the season was over. Some of the members are still enrolled at Virginia Tech, while others have already graduated.
