Francisco Tudela y Varela

Francisco Tudela y Varela (December 24, 1876-November 19, 1962) was a French-born Peruvian diplomat, lawyer and politician. He was born in Paris, France. He graduated from the National University of San Marcos and served on its faculty. He was a member of the Civilista Party. He was minister of economy and finance (August 22-September 18, 1914) and foreign minister (June 17-December 24, 1913, July 27, 1917-December 6, 1918) in the Government of Peru. He was Prime Minister of Peru (July 27, 1917-December 18, 1918) under President José Pardo y Barreda. He served as ambassador of Peru to Spain and the United States (1918-1919). He served as President of the Chamber of Deputies of Peru (1916-1917). He served as mayor of Lima.
