Gennady Ivanchenko (born 30 July 1947) is a Soviet male former weightlifter, who competed in the light heavyweight class and represented Soviet Union at international competitions. He won the gold medal at the 1970 World Weightlifting Championships in the 82.5 kg category.[1] He set a world record in the press of 178.5 kg on 18 May 1972 in Riga, Soviet Union. This weightclass category was discontinued after 1972, so the record has never been broken.
