George Edward Jeffcoat (December 24, 1913 in New Brookland, South Carolina – October 13, 1978), was a professional baseball player who played pitcher in the major leagues for the Brooklyn Dodgers and Boston Braves from 1936 to 1943. He was the last player in the Dodgers franchise to wear jersey number 42 before Jackie Robinson. Jeffcoat wore the jersey during only the 1939 season.
