Geranium Homes is the home building division of Geranium Corporation.
History
The company was inspired by Somer Rumm, a founding partner of Consolidated Building Corporation, which was the first Real Estate Company to trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange.[1]
In 1977, Earl Rumm and Barry Feiner formed Geranium Homes, which began with building two single homes in Scarborough.[2] By 1987, Geranium Homes was actively building communities throughout Ontario including in Aurora, Bolton, Heart Lake, Newmarket and Barrie.
In 1992, 15 years after its inception, Stats Can (1992) identified Geranium Homes as Canada’s fourth largest home builder.[3]
Geranium Corporation
In the mid-1990s, Rumm and Feiner began focusing on land ownership and development. In 1995, Rumm and Feiner formed Geranium Corporation and launched into large scale community development.[4]
By 2007, Geranium Homes, now a division of Geranium Corporation, re-entered into the low-rise housing market with the launch of a ravine community — The Neighbourhoods Of Cardinal Point in Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ontario.[5]
