Giles Brearley
Giles H Brearley (born 14 August 1955) is a published South Yorkshire local historian[1] who has also both written and appeared in T.V and film. He has been a regular presenter on the Radio regarding History.
He is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant in public practice. He was the Senior Partner in Brearley and Co which he commenced in 1984 until August 2015. He now is a consultant to the firm. He is also a 'practice certificate' assessor for the Chartered Institute of Management accountants.
He is a Director sitting on the Boards of various companies being also a former Director of football league club Rotherham United F.C .He is Chairman of the Bridge Property Group ltd and is a Charitable Trustee for Mexborough Alms Houses.
He lives in South Yorkshire and East Sheen in London. He has been instrumental in organising fund raising for the erection of plaques to South Yorkshire historic achievors. He was also instrumental in arranging for the rescue and re-erection of the historical Glassby Arch at Mexborough.
