Greg Secker is an English trader and entrepreneur best known for his motivational speaking,[1] forex trading and his "Learn To Trade" trading and training company, which was one of the fastest growing companies in 2009 within Britain.[2][3]
In 2011 he set up the Knowledge to Action Foundation to positively change the lives of Children (www.knowledgetoactionfoundation.com) The charity was renamed in 2015 to The Greg Secker Foundation.
Knowledge to Action has been the subject of some controversy over investigations into its operating procedures and claims made within its marketing materials.[4][5]
Knowledge to Action has also been listed on the ISPA Hall of Shame in South Africa due to unsolicited email marketing practices.[6]
The Foundation supported the Ubuntu Education Fund in South Africa. Secker flew a helicopter over London trading the forex markets a total of 9 times throughout the year and raised money by donating profits and encouraging the sponsor brokers to give up both sides of the trading commissions to the foundation.[7][8][9][10] Funds raised also subsidise ticket prices for Secker's annual Youth Leadership Summit, which focuses on improving the financial skills of 200 children every year. The week-long residential programme requires that summit participants pay a £50 application fee.[11]
The Greg Secker Foundation has two main functions, supporting charities with financial contributions and grants, in order to assist them in expanding their services and our internal programmes and projects. This year (2016) the charity has sponsored the Ubuntu Education Fund and held two successful youth day programmes titled "Inspired Youth" with an organisation called Pride Factor in South Africa. The Foundation has also sponsored the construction of a medical clinic for the Manila based orphanage House of Refuge Foundation, Inc.
The Foundations internal key project is Build a House, Build a Home. In 2013 Typhoon Haiyan struck and devastated the municipality of Lemery, Iloilo in the Philippines. The project will build 100 permanent homes as well as a training centre. The project is focused around sustainability and to provide skills training and livelihood programmes for our beneficiaries. Construction of the houses has already started with completion in July 2017.
