Greg Wojt (born November 22, 1985 in Warsaw, Poland and raised in Mississauga, Ontario) is a former professional Canadian football offensive lineman for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League. He was drafted by the Eskimos in the second round of the 2008 CFL Draft and played four years for the club before being traded to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He played college football for the Central Michigan Chippewas.
Early years
Regarded as one of the top prospects in Canada, Wojt played defensive and offensive line for Father Michael Goetz Secondary School (Mississauga, ON) He was the team MVP his senior year. He earned four letters in football and basketball and two in track. He set school records in discus and shot put. His mother played for Poland’s Women’s National Basketball Team.
College career
Wojt was a three-year starter at right tackle for the Central Michigan Chippewas and played a key role in CMU’s 2007 Mid-American Conference title. He was drafted by the Edmonton Eskimos in 2008, but returned to CMU for his final year of eligibility. He was a team captain his senior year and earned Second Team All-MAC selection.
