Gumbuya Park is a small amusement park in Tynong North, Victoria, near Pakenham, Melbourne, Australia. It features a toboggan slide, water slide, paddle boats, "Mini Cars," "Twister Karts," dune buggies and mini golf. Themed as "Nature's Playground," it also features a wide variety of native Australian wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, Australian birds, wombats, dingoes, tiger quolls, koalas and emus, some of which can be hand-fed. It is quite a large park, totalling around 430 Acres[1] in area containing around 60 barbecue and picnic areas[1] and a restaurant with adjourning function centre set amongst the surrounding bushland. Originally a pheasant farm, it was converted into a wildlife park in 1978 by the late[2] Ron Rado.[3] The Greenleaf restaurant was built in 1981.[1]
In October 2011, some local vandals loaded the large pheasant statue with a powerful charge and blew out its rear end. This follows earlier vandalism incidents, including the theft of mini cars and motor karts.[4]
