Hazel Erby is an American and Democratic member of the St. Louis County Council.[1] She has represented the first district since 2004.[1]

Early life and career

Hazel Erby graduated from Vashon High School.[1] She then went on to attend Lincoln University and Harris–Stowe State University.[1] She has since been executive director for the Community Partnership for the Prevention of Drug and Substance Abuse, site director for the Caring Communities Program at Barbara C. Jordan School in University City, and founder of TAP City Program in University City, the program that paired teenagers with senior citizens to assist the seniors with errands and chores.[1] She is a member of the National Council of Negro Women.[1] She is a board member of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.[1]

Political career

Hazel Erby is president the Parent Teacher Organization of several schools in University City.[1] She is also the Democratic committeewoman of the University Township.[1] She has been a member of the St. Louis County Council since 2004.[1] She represents the first district, which contains about 145,000 people.[1]
