Hitesh Naran is a South African amateur snooker player who won the South African Snooker Championship twice, and was the first unified champion of South Africa.
Career
During the apartheid years, when there was a non-white South African Snooker Championship under the S.A. Billiards And Snooker Control Board, Hitesh was the 5 times champion during 1989 to 1994. When unification happened in 1994, Hitesh was the inaugural winner of the unified championship. His best year was 1996 when he was both South African and African Snooker Champion, and represented his country in the World Cup. He reached the last 16 of the IBSF World Snooker Championship in 1994 and 1995. In 1998 he qualified for and played in professional ranking events.
